This quarter in Mr. Bergquist's 5th and 6th period class we completed a Claymation project on discoverers. I did my project on Christopher Columbus. My partner for this project was Bo Brown. We completed seven scenes that concluded our final project along with credits and our map. The map was of Columbus's different routes he took through the Atlantic Ocean.
The most enjoyable part of this project was when we were completely finished. I also liked taking pictures. Another favorite part of mine was taping the camera to the table, I got pretty good at that. I enjoyed making the clay models of characters in the project and making clay props for the scenes. I was able to stand saying the narration also. It was fun to make the map that we put onto our claymation final. I liked cropping the ship from the image I got off google. And making the ship move for the route Columbus took on his journeys. I liked coloring the back rounds for each scene. I found getting the information was pretty enjoyable, because that was the only time you weren't working with your partner, so you weren't fighting over what you were going to decide on.
The most difficult part of this project was working together with my partner. Another difficult part was getting each scene turned in on time. A difficult part also was deciding who did what for each scene. It was challenging to record the dialog and narrations without messing up or having noises in the back round. A hard part in this was getting clay in time for the first scene, because the craft store had run out of clay. It was difficult to keep track of all the things we used for the claymation. It was also challenging finding the stuff we lost. Also, it was not fun waiting and being patient for our turn to be helped by Mr. Bergquist or Mr. Snelling. It was not my favorite part when our batteries ran out, so we were not able to use our camera until the following day. It was challenging finding the main routes he took while making my map.
The most important thing I learned was probably how to use imovie. I learned sometimes it's easier doing a project by yourself. I also learned that making a claymation is alot harder than it looks when you watch them on YouTube. I found out that Columbus had two sons. I also learned he was buried and reburied many times. He became very religous toward the end of his life. Christopher Columbus grew up too poor to attend school. Columbus helped his father in the weaving shop as a child. He taught himself how to read and write. Christopher Columbus died of a hard attack at the age of about 55 on May 20, 1506.

My Chickens!
This summer we got a bunch of chicks so that we would get more eggs. Some how we ended up with like 3 roosters, so then we had 4 roosters including Check Mate our original rooster. They are really annoying when they don't shut up. A few weeks ago our chickens started disappearing! Well not really disappearing, but dieing or more like getting killed. My dad went in the chicken pen and he came out and he told me to go look out there becuase the chicken was all ripped up! Something ate the chicken, but it was one of the roosters so now its not as noisy:) It was still pretty sad though. I was surprised that that chicken got killed because he was huge! And guess what, oh my gosh, all the other chickens were eating the dead chicken. It was disgusting! I was like thats not very nice that was your friend that your eating, but nobody listened to me. Another time, last year during the winter our chicken coup had rats in it that were eating all the food. My dad tried shooting them but they're really fast! I think he only killed one that way after a long time of sitting out there in the dark. So Charley, my dad and I all went down to the chicken coup and my dad told us where to stand. We were all set in our positions and we each had something to hit rats with that came out of the chicken nests. I had the tamping iron, ya those big heavy metal things! Charley had a shovel and my dad had a shovel too. I was suppeosed to stand by the door so the rats couldn't escape. Then my dad started shaking all the hay in the nest around and all of the sudden all these rats just started pouring out of the chicken nests!! it was really weird! and gross. Charley was saying I don't want to be in here anymore! He was freaking out and then my dad was like its ok they won't do anything to you. Then I killed two with that tamping iron! It was really fun. Then they looked like pancakes:(. My dad had to put this piece of wood or something in the way of the door because they were really sneaky and started finding ways out. When my dad hit one with the shovel and it was still alive it came running out of nowhere and started hanging onto my shoe!!! I was screaming so loud. I was like get it off!! And my dad just laughed! I was mad haha. After we were pretty sure there was no more rats we brought all the stuff back and went into the house and we were all dirty from trying to kill all the rats and my mom was like what were you guys doing so then we had to tell her the whole story and on and on. I don't think I'll even forget that night when we killed all those rats and i don't think they're coming back because we haven't had that problem again yet.

peanut butter
I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER! ok so one day i was really bored so i tryed everything with peanut butter. Mangos are definetly not good with peanut butter. It was gross. If I could bring one thing to an island so that i would live it would be peanut butter. Some people think its weird when you eat peanut butter on waffles?!? huh, what thats delicious! After church Nora and I were eating peanut butter and apples or crackers or something for lunch and then after a few hours Nora was like why is there peanut butter on your elbow! To tell you the truth I have no idea how that got there, but its impossible to lick peanut butter off your elbow. And I would know that. On the Adventure Ed trip I forgot peanut butter, but Isaac had peanut butter. I had to beg for it and then I had nothing to put the peanut butter on because he wouldn't let us put our fingers in there so I had to put beaf jerfy in there. Beef jerky and peanut butter is not the best, but it was peanut butter so, at that point after not havng peanut butter for 3 days, it didn't matter. Something else thats really gooood with peanut butter is ice cream! vanilla ice cream though. If it was like peanut butter ice cream and I put peanut butter on it that would just not make any sense. OH peanut butter and celery! I always hated celery but then my mom put peanut butter on it and now i even like celery without peanut butter on it. Thats enough of talking about peanut butter... for now. Me without peanut butter is like me without Scarlet haha =)BYE

Adventure Ed Trip
On Sunday morning the adventure ed class left for the Washington Coast at 6:00 a.m. The first night we camped it rained. Everything was wet when we woke up and it was sandy too, because that campsite was on the beach. We started our second day of walking and had to wade through the water that was about up to my knees! It was cold. Half way through that day i remembered that i left my flip flops there. The next campsite was probably my favorite, it had a big creak that was really deep. At this campsite we saw a sea lion. They walk weird, the front half of the sea lion moves kind of like a penguin and the back half of the sea lion just drags. That night we played mafia a lot of times around the fire and Guy told his story about the Oatmeal Raisin Shack. It was funny. Chase laughed so hard when we were playing mafia that he fell off the log backwards. The next morning we packed our stuff up again and began walking. We had to wait like 3 hours for the tide to go out so we could go around the point. Then when we went around the point we met up with Snellings group for about 15 min. then we continued on. When we could see the yellow hill we knew we were close because we were camping at Yellow Banks. To get to the campsite you had to climb this muddy hill, atleast it wasn't raining. After we got our tent set up up there we went down and Koreena, Hayden, Korey and I all went swimming. It took forever to warm up! While I was swimming I forgot that I left my shoes and socks by the fire and when I got back my shoe had a hole in it, and so did my sock! It was horrible. When we woke up the next morning on day 4 we had been walking for awhile and had gone over 2 overland passes because of the tides. We saw a bear! It was an adult black bear and it started coming towards us a little. We also saw a dead sea lion a few times on the hike. The last campsite was pretty cool too. There were lots of racoons, they took some peoples food and cameras and other stuff. A few of us decided to walk down to see the dead whale! It was huge! Hayden took home a rib bone, The rib bone was about that same size as our backpacks were and those arn't small. It rained that night too, so the tarp that we found that Koreena and I carried since day 2 came in handy, because then we weren't wet and miserable. The bus was really warm and the seats seemed so cumfy after those 5 days. I don't like Mcdonalds, but it tasted so good! The trip was pretty fun and I'm looking forward to the California one. I am not going to eat another cliff bar for a long time! Ok thats all i got BYE

My Life Graph

My favorite event that happened so far in my life is when I got my goats Amy and Domo. They were Pygmy goats that I got the summer of 4th grade. We used to let them out and they would run around the house eating everything! We also would bring them inside with us while we watched t.v. and they would just fall asleep on you. They were really cute, fun, and fat! Amy and Domo only stood about a foot 1/2 tall. If they were to grow up they would of been as wide as they were tall. My dad built a little house for them that was really big for two little goats. Most the time they didn't spend in the goat pen though. We nicknamed Amy Houdini because she kept escaping from the pen so we had to line the whole bottom of the fence with logs, and she still got out! And they weren't little logs. They also ran away one time to the neighbors. I just thought they were in the backyard, but i guess not because just then our neighbor comes up the driveway with Amy and Domo on a rope. We had just been over at the neighbors so i think they followed us. If you had food in your hand' they would follow you around all day. They were white with a back stripe on their backs. Domo was a little bigger than Amy and he had horns. Amy was my goat and Domo was Charleys goat. We named him Domo from that song Domo Ari Gotto Mr. Roboto. Ari Gotto was Domo's middle name and Mr. Roboto was Domo's last name.

cross country and MY SANDWICH, pets
Yesterday I participated in a cross country meet located at the South Whidbey High School. I didn't feel good so i didn't get as good of time as i have in the past. I finished in eleventh place with the time 10 min. and 34 sec. Today at lunch i had a really bad sandwich. It had turkey, pickles, cheese, tomato and cheese in it, it was gross. My mom made it last night and then all the juice from the pickles made my sandwich get all wet and soggy so the bread turned green!
Last summer i inherited a Ball Python named Laura Love that i purchased from the pet store. It took me a really long time to convince my mom to get the snake. I had to research Ball Pythons on the internet and type a long report on them. I also have a lepord gecko, it is my brothers. We own 30 chickens plus a rooster, Check Mate. During the summer a baby chickie hatched in the chicken coup, we named it Nemo, because it would run in and out of the fence like Nemo when he was in the sea enenime. Unfortunetly Nemo drowned in the chicken water bowl. My dad changed his name to Floater after that. It was really sad:( And i have three cats; Pumpkin, Patch and Pickles. Pickles is really fluffy and fuzzy. Pumpkin is orange and never scratches. Patch is Pumpkins sister, she is crazy and she is a lot of different colors. Last i have a dog named Miesha, shes a chocolate lab. She is super fast and when she runs, if you throw the ball for her dust comes up behind her, because shes going so fast! Mieshas a pack dog, whatever you do she just lays there and watches you, mostly because she wants food, but still. Whenever we take her to the lake or to the ocean we have to keep her on a rope, because she trys to eat all the water she spalshes and then she won't stop swimming and almost swam to Port Townsend one time. Oh just kidding thats not last, I also have a few fish. Thats it.

This summer:)
This summer I went to camp Lutherwood with Nora. While we were at camp we got lost on a road trip to Oregon and had to sleep in a church! A week or so after camp Nora and I went to Anna's cabin. We went tubing and wakeboarding every day! Some people that lived on the other side of the lake we were on had a molecule. The molecule was a huge tube that easily fit 4 people. They drove us around on it for an hour. That was my favorite part of the whole weekend. We were tubing when my tube sunk all the way under the water. I thought it was going to come back up so I held on and it just kept sinking. Also this summer I went to my cousins house. We went tubing from their property on Lake Washington. We had been tubing for about only 15 minutes when the boat stopped working. Joey (my cousin) and I swam back to the dock to get something so the boat would work again. We decided to not take the stuff needed for the boat back and instead just ditched them and swam in the pool. After a while we went back but they had already finished the swimming the boat back with a rope. Later that night when we were all in our pajamas and getting ready for bed we were standing around outside by the pool and i had this idea to push Charley into the pool. I did. After that he pushed me in. All of us were soaked, except for Joey who managed not to get pushed in. A few days befor my dad fell off the roof he took Charley and I tubing! It was super fun, except it was raining really hard. We were already wet so it didn't make a difference if we went into the water. About a day or two later my dad woke me up and asked if i wanted him to pick up two kittens. Well i wasn't going to say no. Charley and i both agreed on yes faster than my dad asked us he question. The only problem was we didn't ask my mom if we could get them. When she got home from work she was not happy. We had to give the kitty's away! They spent the night that first day, but after that we gave them to Travis. Two days after we dumped the cats on Travis he brought them over so me and Charley could play with them while he was working on our house. Travis came over a lot in the summer to help dad with the lean two to cover the hot tub and barbeque. We begged my mom if we could keep them and she finally gave in. That night we watched Happy Gilmore with Mom, Dad, Travis, and Charley. The rest of my summer was partly occupied by practices for soccer on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.
